Emergency Kits Facts and Fiction

Survival in an Emergency Situation is dependent upon several factors to include your mindset, previous exposure to stress and disasters, skills and ability to adapt to the ever changing nature of your current situation. There seems to be an Emergency Kit for every situation. First Aid Kits, 72 Hour Kits, Get Home Bags, Bug Out Bags, Vehicle Emergency Kits, Workplace Kits, and School Lockdown Kits. Kits, Kits and more Kits where does it all end??? In this course we will stop the insanity and focus on identifying your unique needs allowing you to build a kit that is customizable to you and more importantly one you will be comfortable using during a time of need.

Students will learn:

  • “Survive and Win Mindset.”
  • Facts from Fiction for several types of Emergency Kits.
  • Skills + Equipment = Enhanced Probability for Survival during a disaster.
  • Hands on demonstration of the contents from various types of Emergency Preparedness Kits
  • 72 Hour Kit
  • Vehicle Emergency Kit
  • Get Home Bag (GHB)
  • First Aid Kit – Basics +

Students are encouraged to bring their own emergency kits to class.

Additional Information:

  • The minimum class registration size is 4 people. Our class will not exceed 10 people to ensure effective learning and participation.
  • Class attendees are required to be a 12 years of age or older. 12 – 17 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 years of age or older.
  • There is no prerequisite for this course.
  • *** Students are prohibited from bringing loaded firearms to this course. *** All weapons brought into the class must be disclosed to the instructor prior to the start of class to ensure the weapon is rendered safe.

  • Paper / Notebook
  • Highlighter (useful but not required.)
  • We request attendees wear comfortable weather appropriate attire. We train in the rain. Distracting, Unclean or Offensive clothing may result in refusal of admittance into the seminar and forfeiture of the entire tuition fee paid.
