Refuse to be a Victim Seminar

Improve your personal safety strategies with NRA’s Refuse To Be A Victim® Program. Experts agree that the single most important step toward ensuring your personal safety is making the decision to refuse to be a victim. That means that you must have an overall personal safety strategy in place before you need it. Through a four-hour seminar (shorter presentations are available) called Refuse To Be A Victim®, you can learn the personal safety tips and techniques you need to avoid dangerous situations and avoid becoming a victim. Here are just a few of the topics presented in the Refuse To Be A Victim® seminar:

The Refuse To Be A Victim® seminar may be attended by any law abiding citizen of the United States over the age of 14. ​14 through 17 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult due to the subject matter covered. ​Preparedness Consulting Group, LLC ​will not instruct anyone who has a known Felony conviction or extensive criminal history.

Less then Lethal Training (Pepper Spray - Stun Gun - Baton)

When the time comes to defend yourself or another person from a physical or sexual assault it is necessary to have a plan in place before there is ever an attack. Preparedness Consulting Group understands not every law abiding citizen desires to carry a firearm. Furthermore a firearm may be prohibited by location or jurisdiction. Less than Lethal self-defense weapons provide a proactive alternative. This course is designed to provide the student with a practical hands on familiarization of Less than Lethal options in a safe learning environment.

Students will learn:

  • Legal considerations pertaining to purchasing, possessing, open carry concealment carry, transportation as well as the criminal and civil ramifications of utilizing a Less than Lethal weapon for self-defense.
  • The theory behind the “Survive and Win”
  • Less than Lethal Weapon selection, their capabilities and limitations.
  • Steps for successful deployment in a self-defense scenario.
  • Hands on practical application with each Less thank Lethal Weapon.
  • Active Chemical Agent (Pepper Spray) will not be deployed during this course.
  • Students are NOT allowed to bring firearms of any type into the classroom. If you have concerns please voice them to us prior to registering for this course.

  • The minimum class registration size is 6 people. Our class will not exceed 18 people to ensure effective learning and participation.
  • Class attendees are required to be an adult 18 years of age or older.
  • Convicted Felons are prohibited from attending this course by law.

Emergency Preparedness (The First 72 Hours)

Every day you are confronted with the potential of personal, natural and man-made disasters. It is only through proper mindset, education, planning and practical application that you Will Have A Plan for the next disaster in your life.

Students will learn:

  • The “Survive and Win Mindset” as it pertains to emergency preparedness.
  • Personal, Natural and Man-Made Disasters that are common in the instruction area.
  • Evaluating your individual needs for maximum survivability and comfort during the disaster. Based on the rules of three relating to the Survival Need Hierarchy, Skills and Equipment.
  • Sheltering variables during a disaster – Home, Work, School, Hotel and Away from home.
  • A common sense approach to building a cost effective 72 hour kit based on the student’s mindset, skills, willingness to learn and adopt a proactive survival approach.

Additional Information:

  • The minimum class registration size is 6 people. Our class will not exceed 10 people to ensure effective learning and participation.
  • Class attendees are required to be an 16 years of age or older. 16 – 18 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 years of age or older.
  • This course is a prerequisite for the following Emergency Preparedness Courses:

Students will learn:

  • A brief refresher of the Emergency Preparedness the first 72 hours will open the class.
  • Proper planning and considerations for ensuring adequate shelter, water, food, safety, medical and hygienic needs are met.
  • Alternative power sources to include the construction of a battery backup system.

The minimum class registration size is 4 people. Our class will not exceed 10 people to ensure effective learning and participation.

Class attendees are required to be an adult 16 years of age or older. 16 – 18 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 years of age or older.

This course is a prerequisite for all other courses taught by Preparedness Consulting Group as part of the Emergency Preparedness Series.

Survival in an Emergency Situation is dependent upon several factors to include your mindset, previous exposure to stress and disasters, skills and ability to adapt to the ever changing nature of your current situation. There seems to be an Emergency Kit for every situation. First Aid Kits, 72 Hour Kits, Get Home Bags, Bug Out Bags, Vehicle Emergency Kits, Workplace Kits, and School Lockdown Kits. Kits, Kits and more Kits where does it all end??? In this course we will stop the insanity and focus on identifying your unique needs allowing you to build a kit that is customizable to you and more importantly one you will be comfortable using during a time of need.

  • Facts from Fiction for several types of Emergency Kits.
  • Skills + Equipment = Enhanced Probability for Survival during a disaster.

  • Class attendees are required to be a 12 years of age or older. 12 – 17 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 years of age or older.
  • There is no prerequisite for this course.
  • *** Students are prohibited from bringing loaded firearms to this course. *** All weapons brought into the class must be disclosed to the instructor prior to the start of class to ensure the weapon is rendered safe.

Emergency Preparedness (Getting Home)

Emergency Preparedness – Getting Home

Often during an emergency one or more members of your household will be away from home. These personal, natural and man-made disasters never happen at an ideal time. Truthfully, there is never an ideal time for an emergency. Being away from the comfort, safety and security your home provides, only adds to the stress of the emergency. Having a plan to get back to your loved ones is imperative. Realistically assess the emergency, evaluate the current and ever changing conditions. Planning and practicing your get home strategy prior to an emergency will increase the likelihood of a successful family reunion.

Students will learn:

  • “Survive and Win Mindset”
  • Key Action Steps needed to return safely home
  • Alternative meeting locations away from home
  • Communication without a cell phone
  • Map Reading and Basic Orientation (this is not a land navigation or compass class)
  • Transportation, your car or public transit may not be available
  • Shelter, Food and Water
  • Personal Safety Considerations.
  • Hands on demonstration of building a Get Home Bag
